Have a question?

We will endeavour to get back to your questions related to therapy and assessment as soon as possible. In the meantime, here are some commonly asked questions.

Can I claim on Medicare or Private Health?

Medicare (Mental Health Care Plan) is available for use when attending initial appointments and therapeutic sessions, both with children and/or parents. It does not cover cognitive, academic or ADHD assessments. Some private health insurers may offer partial rebates; check your individual policy.

How do we prepare for an assessment?

Before the first appointment, you will be asked you to complete forms about your child’s medical, developmental and educational history. We may also request copies of school reports or other relevant documents. We recommend that your child has up-to-date vision and hearing tests before the assessment begins. These checks help rule out factors that could affect learning and ensure the results of the cognitive assessment are as accurate and useful as possible.

Does my child need a referral from a GP?

You do not need a referral from a GP for therapy or an assessment.

How long do assessments take?

Most assessments require two appointments plus the initial appointment. The testing appointments take between two to three hours each. Following the final appointment, you can expect to have the results within three to four weeks.
